The Bradbury Tradition

It seems that we always end up on the summit of Bradbury Mountain at some point each autumn. On Saturday, I retrieved my hiking boots from their storage and laced up my old friends but was glad to leave their companion, the weighty backpack, at home.
This year the leaves had not turned quite enough to provide the brilliant array of color that usually accompanies our progress up the hill. Instead, we were merely teased by the sporadic dappling of red, orange and yellow as we meandered up the 1 mile Northern Loop trail to the panoramic view at the top. It was a beautiful sight on a Saturday afternoon.
