Cold in Cumberland

Atira (1 mile) and Tell (1/2 mile) had their first running meet today at Twin Brook Recreation Center in Cumberland and it was CHILLY! Tell had a minor meltdown BEFORE his race because he was so cold, but enjoyed his run, not even bothered that he finished 54th out of the fifty-five 5-8yr. old boys.

Atira's group raced last, which meant her legs were already half numb when she began her mile but she persevered, telling herself to keep running as she rounded the last corner.

As we walked back to the van she said she had no idea how tired her legs were because she couldn't actually feel them. During the walk to the van we felt some drops. We were very thankful that it started sprinkling AFTER the meet.
Next week should be about 20 degrees warmer from what I hear. That's spring in Maine for you.
