We've had several days of below zero temperatures here in Coastal Maine. I've been thankful that I haven't had to trudge out in it too many times. Yesterday was one of those times. Jim was on a job site in Harpswell Neck and had left his lights on, depleting the truck battery. Me to the rescue.
The house was right on the water and boy, was it chilly. The wind, coming right off the Atlantic, was swirling around, creating tiny snow tornados near the corner of the house, as the January sun was setting. It was beautiful and I thought- What a shame that the owners, who are summer residents, never see this part of Maine's beauty.

2014
Eight-year old Tell's assessment of 2013 was, "Well, that year went by quick." I told him the older you get, the faster it will seem go. And didn't this one fly?
We ended 2013 with our cozy clan of Morrills, Fishers and Foremans. Some left before midnight and the rest engaged in Apples to Apples with the odd collection of players ranging from 8 to 55. Culture gap was evident.
As the new year approached, we missed Deb dashing last minute from the hospital for the ball drop as in years past.
Sandy, Jim and I once again "smoked" our celebratory cookies, provided by the lovely Heidi Morrill of Frosty's Donut fame.
Welcome 2014.
What will you bring?
