Sliding Into February Break

A late night phone call with a friend and an afternoon of snow tubing at Seacoast Fun Park with friends means an early night. I'm exhausted! Let vacation week begin.....

The Secret Garden

For the past couple years I've been watching some Korean dramas online and on Netflix. I've picked up several Korean words and phrases along the way and have been introduced to a different style of television show, acting and of course cultural references. You will also find a bit of Korean music in my iTunes library. Along with all of that I have also endured the eye-rolling and comments from the family, particularly Nolan and Jubal. Just like American shows, you have the good, the watchable, and those you never finish. One of my favorites is called Secret Garden.

It's a well written, 20 episode drama that has the perfect mix of comedy, romance and drama with some great plot twists and fabulous characters. It was such a good series that I wanted to watch it again and thought Jim might enjoy it as well. He agreed to watch it with me and for the first few episodes I had to approach him about watching the next episode. One evening, around the third episode Jubal entered the living room randomly while we were watching. He made some kind of snide comment and then stood and watched for the rest of the hour. The next night he was there again. By episode 10 Jim and Jubal were asking ME "Are we watching the next episode tonight?" and the start of the show found Jim firmly ensconced in the bean bag and Jubal sprawled on the couch. Minus Nolan, who is still annoyed by Korean dramas and music, it was a family affair. Even Tell, who can't follow the subtitles, sat through most of the episodes getting the gist of it. They were hooked! Tonight we finished the final two episodes and all were satisfied with the conclusions of the storylines ... If you don't mind subtitles and feel like watching something unique and foreign, then I highly recommend The Secret Garden. You WILL enjoy it.

....And the Song of the Day Is.....

.........10,000 Reasons
by Matt Redman

I sang it during Worship Team practice, then of course, during the service, so it was stuck in my head this afternoon as I walked out to the car to bring Tell over to the Foreman's. Walking down the path I sang "Bless The Lord, oh my soul, oh my soul. Worship His holy name.." I sat in the car singing "....sing like never before.." I turned on the radio to hear Chris Tomlin finish my sentence with "...oh my soul, worship His holy name." without missing a beat! It was weird and awesome at the same time. Yep! It's definitely the song of the day.

[Chorus]
Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name

The sun comes up, it's a new day dawning
It's time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes

[Chorus]

You're rich in love, and You're slow to anger
Your name is great, and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find

[Chorus]

And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore

[Chorus x2]

Jesus, I'll worship Your holy name
Lord, I'll worship Your holy name

Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name
Jesus, I'll worship Your holy name
I'll worship Your holy name
